Following the model of the Vancouver Parks Board鈥檚 鈥淩emarkable Vancouver Women鈥� poster project in 2008, this poster project is curated by Dr. Afua Cooper (Ruth Wynn Woodward Chair, Women鈥檚 Studies, 天美mv天美) who has partnered with the 天美mv天美 Gallery to create this exhibition.
This exhibit has several objectives: to briefly document the marginalized history of the Black presence in B.C.; to celebrate that experience and pay homage to the women and men who helped build British Columbia; and finally, to commemorate and highlight the Black presence as part of B.C.鈥檚 150th anniversary celebrations.
