ÌìÃÀmvÌìÃÀ Welcomes 205 Aspiring Physicians for Multiple Mini-Interviews
On March 28–29, ÌìÃÀmvÌìÃÀ’s Burnaby campus became a hub of acitivty as 205 applicants arrived for one of the most defining steps in their path toward medical school: the Multiple Mini-Interviews (MMI).
The MMI is more than an interview—it’s a circuit of timed, scenario‑based stations designed to reveal the qualities that textbooks can’t teach. As candidates moved from room to room, they faced challenges that tested their communication skills, ethical reasoning, problem‑solving abilities, and professionalism. Each station offered a different window into how these applicants may approach the practice of medicine.
Faculty, clinicians, staff, and members of the broader community worked together to deliver a supportive and structured experience, helping create a weekend filled with thoughtful conversations, meaningful moments, and impressive displays of resilience from candidates.
What Happens Next?
With interviews complete, applications now move to committee review, where MMI results join academic and supplemental materials in a holistic assessment.
Admissions decisions are expected to be finalized and released in mid-May, marking the culmination of months—often years—of preparation for these future health care leaders.
For now, we extend our congratulations to all 205 applicants who reached this stage, and our appreciation to everyone who made the MMI weekend possible.
