New faculty
Dr. Edana Beauvais joins the Department of Political Science as an assistant professor
The Department of Political Science welcomed assistant professor to its faculty on November 1st, 2020.
Before coming to 天美mv天美, Beauvais was a Banting Postdoctoral Fellow at Duke University. She also previously held a Visiting Democracy Fellowship at Harvard University鈥檚 Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation.
At 天美mv天美, Beauvais鈥檚 teaching focus is on political communication or media and politics, with an emphasis on big data.
In the spring 2021 semester, Beauvais will teach and . Both courses are part of the social data analytics minor program and will offer students a chance to develop practical quantitative skills that are in high demand in the labour market.
A proud Vancouverite, who holds master鈥檚 and doctorate degrees from the University of British Columbia, Beauvais is happy to return to Canada after spending time in the United States.
鈥淚 can鈥檛 express how glad I am to return to Vancouver,鈥 she says. 鈥淭he United States is having a lot of issues these days, and I found it very stressful to be a foreign visa-holder during the Trump presidency.鈥
