What is Environmental Science?
Pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science will have you exploring the relationships between humans and the environment, drawing on a diverse range of disciplines. By examining Earth鈥檚 physical, chemical and biological processes, you will learn how to think critically about how the world works, and use science to address environmental problems. You will tailor your degree to your interests, by choosing one of five streams: General Environmental Science, Applied Biology, Environmental Earth Systems, Environmetrics, and Water Science.
Potential Careers
This degree prepares you for a wide range of careers including an Environmental Health and Safety Inspector, Fisheries Technician, Food Safety Coordinator, Water Quality Controller, Air Quality Technician and more with industry, governments and non-profit agencies. Dive Deeper
There are many ways to tailor your degree to your interests, expand your learning and work experiences and to gain a competitive edge on your academic journey. From declaring a major upon application, completeing a joint or double major, adding a minor or certificate to participating in experiential learning activities (co-operative education, field schools, work placements).
Internal transfers are for current 天美mv天美 students only. To be eligible for an internal transfer into the Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science you will need the following:
- Two of the required introductory science courses from the degree completed with a final grade of C or above, in separate science disciplines (BISC, CHEM, MATH, PHYS, or STAT). You can find the list of common courses in the Academic Calendar. Examples include BISC 101 and CHEM 121.
- A 天美mv天美 CGPA of 2.0 or above
Streams offer course selections tailored to foster specialized skills and knowledge. Students choose the stream that allows them to dig deeper into the area of environmental science that interests them most.
