SIAT’s groundbreaking Vtubers seeking talent for the next generation
Surrey, BC - After the successful launch of the world’s first university virtual ambassador program in March, ÌìÃÀmvÌìÃÀ’s School of Interactive Arts & Technology (SIAT) is continuing its momentum and preparing for a new generation of the program and auditions for the new vAmbassadors have opened.
ÌìÃÀmvÌìÃÀ, in collaboration with StudioSIAT, is also relaunching IAT 443: Senior Project in Creative Media this fall to give up to 30 students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience through a semester-long, work-integrated learning, six-credit course virtual ambassador program project.
In addition, IAT 443 students will also receive a $700 grant courtesy of Co-operative Education and Work Integrated Learning Canada (CEWIL) to support their work, as well as creative and technical support from StudioSIAT staff and facilities.
Virtual Ambassador Auditions
vAmbassadors like Mo and Faye Ayato are content creators and streamers that utilize StudioSIAT’s motion capture facilities and technology to pilot virtual avatar characters, producing content on SIAT’s YouTube and social media channels.
Becoming a vAmbassador includes not only hands-on experience in content creation and working with the motion capture pipeline, but also the opportunity to debut with the support of a team of student artists, animators, designers, and more. vAmbassadors also receive a monthly honorarium in addition to financial and creative support for more ambitious projects.
StudioSIAT is seeking enthusiastic creatives from the SIAT program with experience in media creation and video production that are 19 years old or older and in their second year of ÌìÃÀmvÌìÃÀ or later.
Visit our virtual ambassador page for more information and to apply.
IAT 443 - Senior Project in Creative Media
IAT 443 is a senior-level investigation of skills and knowledge learned across the creative media concentration, led by University Lecturer Susan Clements-Vivian in collaboration with StudioSIAT Manager J Tseng.

This will be a large-scale, semester-long work-integrated learning collaboration with StudioSIAT and local motion capture studios.
