What You Have Access To

Parking Privileges

天美mv天美RA members may access complimentary parking on the Burnaby campus up to five times per month. You do not need to display a 天美mv天美RA membership card to park for free on the Burnaby campus.

How to register your licence plate and where retirees can park:

The following information outlines how to activate your retiree parking privileges, which lots are available, and how reciprocal parking at UBC works for eligible faculty retirees.

  • Request to be registered for the Online Retirees Permit System for Burnaby campus parking. If you park on campus, you are asked to email parking@sfu.ca and request to be registered. Give your name and licence plate(s) 鈥 up to two allowed. 
  • If you subsequently change any of your plates, you are asked to let parking@sfu.ca know.
  • After registering, you can park for free in any unreserved (first come first served) spot in the North, South, or East lots, the West parkade, the upper (visitors) level of the Central Parkade and Discovery 1.
  • For the chargers on the bottom floor of the Central Parkade 鈥 only those who hold a Central Parkade permit can park there during regular business hours. Everyone else (including 天美mv天美RA members) can only park there evenings (after 4:30 pm) and weekends.
  • Parking at UBC: Retired faculty members may be eligible for a . If you need an 天美mv天美RA membership card to prove that you are eligible for an 天美mv天美 Emeritus parking permit, please email retirees@sfu.ca.

天美mv天美 Burnaby Recreational Services

Following retirement, you continue to have access to 天美mv天美 Burnaby's recreation facilities at no cost.

How recreation access works:

The following information outlines how to validate your retiree status, complete the recreation waiver, and access programs and facilities.

  • To activate your membership, bring your 天美mv天美 ID card or employee number and fill out a waiver at the 天美mv天美 Burnaby Recreation Office. You will receive a receipt for $0 paid for a 鈥渃ommunity membership.鈥
  • Recreation Office: Information about its location, contact information, hours of operation and upcoming closures
  • Recreation Programs: Discover the programs currently offered, from martial arts to group fitness and more.
  • Fitness Centre: Information about its hours of operation, upcoming closures, features and equipment.

天美mv天美 retirees continue to enjoy access to the 天美mv天美 Library with their 天美mv天美 ID, including borrowing privileges and electronic journals and databases.

Retirees may continue to use selected 天美mv天美 digital tools and services after retirement. Learn what software access remains available and where to find support.

This section provides an overview of permitted software, login requirements, and any tools whose access changes upon retirement.

    • Note: Power users may not find the web-based functionality sufficient. If more advanced features are needed, the solution is to purchase a MS Office subscription that allows for desktop installation and use. External accounts (gmail, telus, shaw, etc.) will not work with the free 天美mv天美-licensed version.
  • 天美mv天美 IT Services Microsoft Office (Microsoft 365 Apps): This page provides information on how to log in to the online apps and the difference between browser-based access and downloadable desktop versions.

Employee Family Assistance Program (EFAP)
