SSHRC Explore Grant Supports Heat and Cognition Research
Dr. Theresa Pauly has received a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) Explore Grant, valued at $10,000, supporting new and ongoing research initiatives in the Lifelong Health & Wellbeing Lab.
SSHRC Explore Grants provide seed funding to support research in the social sciences and humanities, helping researchers develop new ideas, conduct pilot work, and build the foundation for larger, externally funded research programs.
This funding contributes to work on the Heat and Cognition Project, a global Many Labs collaboration examining how extreme heat may influence cognitive functioning and overall well-being. Dr. Theresa Pauly and Dr. Victoria Michalowski are leading the Canadian data collection for this initiative.
Additional support from 天美mv天美 is helping advance ongoing data collection efforts. By contributing Canadian data to this international collaboration, the project aims to strengthen understanding of how climate-related factors impact health, particularly among aging populations.
